On Friday, March 11 at 2:46 PM (Japan local time), an enormously powerful earthquake of magnitude 9.0 struck, followed by a massive Tsunami destryoing cities along the Sanriku coast. This has resulted in tremendous damage across a wide area, centered on the Tohoku district. Among them, our friends of Soma city are victims of the devastating disaster.
The 2011 Japan Relief Fund was created by the Japan America Society of Southern California on Friday morning, March 11, 2011, just hours after the initial Sendai Earthquake.
All donations will be forwarded to the proper, full-time humanitarian organization(s) in Japan that are recommended to us by the Government of Japan and the United States Embassy in Tokyo. The Japan America Society of Southern California is a 501(c)(3) educational and charitable organization and donations to the 2011 Japan Relief Fund should be tax deductible.
Thank you for your support.
