SOMA NOMAOI

The superstars of Japan Family Day are the Soma Nomaoi samurai warriors.

For more than 1,000 years, samurai from the Soma district in Fukushima, Japan have practiced Nomaoi, wild horse herding. This incredible spectacle is a combination of military training, religious ceremony and social heritage.

Now Nomaoi is designated as a National Important Intangible Folk-Custom Cultural Property. Now, the world-famous Samurai warriors dressed in traditional armor appear in Soma Nomaoi booth. This is not to be missed.
